Citrine tumblestone (S)

Natural Citrine, Brazil.

Citrine is a type of quartz. It ranges in colour from yellow through to an orangey brown. Genuine citrine is relatively uncommon. The majority of commercial citrine is either heat-treated low grade Amythest; pale smoky quartz; or artifically irradiated smoky quartz. It is relatively easy to spot heat treated Amythest -- it isn't diochroic and it often has a treacly colour. Irradiated quartz is generally called Lemon quartz, but is also occasionaly sold as citrine.

Average weight, 3g.  Prices are per item. Photographs are representative of the items on offer, but the item you buy may not be the one in the photograph
