Ruin marble / pietra paesina

Turrets and towers shelter under the cliffs; a mini laputa hovers just above

Ayone who has ever come to the stall, knows how obsessed I am by things that look like pictures, but that are actually painted by nature (wowsers that's a long sentence).

Anyway..   here's one of my favourites,  Ruin marble from Florence, Italy.  These fantastic landscapes are completely natural and come only from the North Appennines, near florence.  They have been used as ornamentation in high end cabinets and furnishings since the renaissance and were said to be a favourite of Lorenzo De Medici.
