Amethyst rune set

The runes are an ancient alphabet used in Nordic tradition. In these stories, Odin hung from the world tree to acquire the gift of writing. At a time when most people were illiterate, writing and the act of writing was in itself special and the runic letters have always been associated with magic and power. As well as having a phonetic component, each letter also has a symbolic meaning. They can be used to call things into being, but are also commonly used for divination. This is a full set of the elder futhark (the derived proto runic alphabet). The set comes with a bag and a very basic information sheet.
