Dinosaur eggshell

Fragment of dinosaur eggshell
Saltasaurus sp.
Age: Cretaceous (110 million years ago)

Location: Patagonia

If you've ever watched David Attenborough's Walking with Dinosaurs, you will probably remember a cool scene where he picks up a fragment of dinosaur eggshell from a desert floor. The fragment has the remains of a dinosaur foetus still visible.

The dinosaur eggshell fragments from this area do sometimes contain evidence of embryonic dinosaurs. However there are many many fragments of dinosaur eggshell in this area and most of them aren't quite that cool. These samples definitely aren't, but they are fragments of dinosaur eggshell and how epic is that!

Check them out with a mini microscope, for added interest.
