Marine invertebrates are the most common fossils. Animals with shelly parts preserve well in certain marine environments. Therefore there is a preservation bias towards shelled marine invertebrates.

Ammonites, goniatites and nautiloids

Trilobites

A flexicalymene trilobite, 3 crinoid ossicles and a otodus tooth are on top of a white cardboard box, resting against the box is a goniate in black marble and a dendritic graptolite

Bivalves and gastropods from the Paris Basin.

Molluscs (not ammonoids or nautiloids)

Calceola sandoline. These are brown and shaped like little slippers. The interior is empty. There are growth lines across the fossils, building up from the "toe"
