Pangea breaks up and the Atlantic ocean is born. The sea levels rise and rise, until much of the land is covered by shallow sub tropical seas. The first birdlike fossils appear. Dinosaurs begin to get everywhere. That said, the most typical fossils of the era are ammonites.
