Land ahoy!
Scotland and the south of Britain are currently part of one United Kingdom, but they started off on two entirely different continents. These two continents docked together during the Silurian to form the basis of the modern British Isles.
In other news... animals had definitely adapted for land, and they were all creepy crawlies. The oldest known completely terrestrial fossil is a Silurian millipede, but centipedes and arachnids were also good to go.
