Turquoise

Turquoise is a typical component in Native American tradition, but has a rich folklore in every country in which it is found. It is named after the country of Turkey, which was a major trade route for Iranian turquoise. 

It is said to be spiritually protective, is used in spirit journeys and dreamwork, and represents responsible leadership and communication. It is the traditional birthstone for December.
