Zircon

Zircons are zirconium silicate they are ubiquitous in all igneous rocks and very persistent. they last millions of years after the rock they formed in has turned to sand. All zircons contain traces of uranium and thorium. They can be used for radiometric dating and give a good estimate of the last date in which the rock they formed was molten.
