Mother of pearl from an seventy five million year old ammonite shell.
This sample is crying out to be made into jewellery. The iridescence is fantastic; it flashes between green and orange and there are traces of blue. Ammolite is the only fossilised material to be recognised as a gemstone by the GIA. The name is location specific and all ammolite comes from one restricted location in Canada.
